Rose colored afghan

I haven't added many sewing projects to this blog and that's odd since I do have so many pictures. It's a rose colored afghan and I won 1st place in the county fair the year I entered it. That's one of those things I decided not to save for a special day and have started giving stuff to the kids. My DD has this and as you can tell, it was made sometime before 2007. The lil angel was born Nov 2007.

Busy, busy weekend

Miss K and her older sister, the singer.
This past weekend was extremely busy. The weather was just gorgeous (70 degrees) on Saturday so we worked in the yard - cleaning, getting up a tree that was cut down, and spreading pine straw on the flower beds. The yard always looks much nicer with fresh pinestraw.

Sunday was nice. We had "Pac the Pew" at church. DH's parents came from out of town so we all had lunch at our house after the service. (Our only buffet restaurant, Ryans, has closed). My parents, DH's parents and 1 grandchild. Before we got finished with the meal, the other grown GC, came by to see us. Miss K spent Sat night with us, went to church and helped with lunch. She is 9 yrs old - she set the table, prepared drinks, and helped with "greeting our guests". If I'm cooking for a small group and we all are able to sit at the same table, I enjoy setting a pretty table. She got a chance to offer tea in a "fancy" pitcher instead of the old family tea jug. You know, we Southerners love our sweet tea. She's quite a helper and loves to watch the cooking shows. Maybe she'll learn gourmet cooking and I won't have to cook!! We had ham, mashed potatoes, (with gravy, of course) black eyed peas, biscuits, berry cobbler and ice cream for dessert. Lil Princess and her parents came in after lunch, just in time for ice cream.

Motorsports Complex Update

Since we're a "racing" family, we're all interested in the new Motorsports Complex.
All of the above cars belong to my DH and DS..they don't drive, one of the GS does.

The old irrigation in the fields are being removed. They should be breaking ground soon, lots of digging to do - banking the roadcourse, traffic lanes, dragstrip lanes and garages. I still think it would be nice to have one of the new condos being built. Just think, with a pair of binoculars, I could see Tont Stewart as much as I wanted !!! (An old lady being silly.)

Sunshiny Days

My DH with DD as she played the Easter Bunny at church. These were taken about 4 years ago and DH and I still pretty much look the same -- OLD.!!

I'm probably pushing the Easter season a little but looking at all the piccies, these are among my favorites, of the thousands that are on the computer or in boxes and totes. (My children are going to have so much fun looking and sorting through my "stuff" when my "time" comes).

Gratitudes:
My children for putting up with this old lady
My DH, who means the world to me

Heaven and the fish......

Had to share this with ya'll. My DD posted it last night on facebook.

"DD thinks God has the best sense of humor! So I looked in the fish tank & couldn't find "Lil Angels" fish anywhere! I broke the news to her that Jesus needed another fish in Heaven so He took ours. She said "maybe my fish will come back from Heaven one day." I assured her that it didn't work that way because God doesn't send animals back. Weeeellllll guess who's back in the tank swimming"

We all need to have simple faith...Lil Angel is 3 years old but sometime she thinks so deeply, it's like living with a grown-up. She keeps all of us on our toes.!! DD has explained Heaven to her because my DH's uncle is so sick and she dearly loves going to see him, (he's her Paw Paw Guitar). She realizes Jessie is in Heaven with God and says she will see her some day. (Jessie died exactly one week before Lil Angel was born and they were the only ones in the family that would have been blood related. Lil Angel is adopted.)

Just wanted to record this - some day we will forget all the cute things she says. Thanks for listening.

HOORAY HOORAY HIP HIP HOORAY !!!

It seems like I blog when I'm asking for prayers for my dad or something not so joyful but today is different ------We live in a small rural part of Georgia, and like a lot of others, our economy has been shot in the foot. Well, I'm happy to say we will be getting a new sports complex (motorsports, drag strip) within 2 miles of my house. Now you're thinking -- the noise --- well, that's the least of our worries. Our community needs some inflex of jobs and money, so the noise and visiting people will be a plus !!!!
The piccie above is the Lil Angel helping her dad "work" on the race car. Our entire family is involved with race cars, and that's where my children were every Saturday night (with my DH and I) and we knew all their friends and what they were doing. My son and daughter contribute this for them never getting into drugs or REAL trouble with the law.
So, I'll get off my soapbox and thank God for allowing this positive thing in our community.
And, oh by the way, my parents and family are doing fine. The flu is going around, but none of us are sick,yet..
have a great day blog friends and thanks for listening.

Update on my Dad..

Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord. Dad is feeling much better. Last Tuesday when I was at their house, I went "on a rant"... for the longest time I've tried to get him to take VEMMA (a nutritional supplement) and he has always complained. Anyway, I referred the same liquid to a church member who was having health issues (gout, bug bite with a swollen arm, staph infection) and within 3 days the swelling had gone down, no infection and no gout. After about the third time of saying "I don't know why people don't believe me, but the VEMMA does work" he said he would try it again. They have had a bottle in their refrigerator for 3 weeks. So... he started taking a dosage (2 oz.) and by Friday night his voice was stronger, he was sleeping in his bed without the bad coughing spells, his facial color was back. He felt so good that on Sunday he drove to a nearby town (60 miles away) for his sister's birthday and then came to church in the evening when they arrived home. last night, as we were doing our church "meet & greet" (it's a Southern thing), the pianist was playing a lively tune and he started swaying and flailing his arms....he feels so much better -- it sounds impossible, but he acts like his old self...

Mom is also taking it REGULARLY/DAILY and her health is better - she had gotten so tired from being the care giver.
Gratitudes:
1. My parents health.
2. Closeness with my daughter.
3. My DH choosing to take VEMMA......
