Miss K and her older sister, the singer. This past weekend was extremely busy. The weather was just gorgeous (70 degrees) on Saturday so we worked in the yard - cleaning, getting up a tree that was cut down, and spreading pine straw on the flower beds. The yard always looks much nicer with fresh pinestraw.
Sunday was nice. We had "Pac the Pew" at church. DH's parents came from out of town so we all had lunch at our house after the service. (Our only buffet restaurant, Ryans, has closed). My parents, DH's parents and 1 grandchild. Before we got finished with the meal, the other grown GC, came by to see us. Miss K spent Sat night with us, went to church and helped with lunch. She is 9 yrs old - she set the table, prepared drinks, and helped with "greeting our guests". If I'm cooking for a small group and we all are able to sit at the same table, I enjoy setting a pretty table. She got a chance to offer tea in a "fancy" pitcher instead of the old family tea jug. You know, we Southerners love our sweet tea. She's quite a helper and loves to watch the cooking shows. Maybe she'll learn gourmet cooking and I won't have to cook!! We had ham, mashed potatoes, (with gravy, of course) black eyed peas, biscuits, berry cobbler and ice cream for dessert. Lil Princess and her parents came in after lunch, just in time for ice cream.
