The sands of time.........

Our DS will be 47 years old tomorrow, I always ask him how he got to be that old, the years have gone by so quickly.  It seems like only  a few years ago that he was living at home, going to school, and beginning his own life.

When he was 14 years old, DH helped him buy his first car and he's never slowed down.  These two pictures are him checking one of the race cars that the two of them have had.  He's so talented and works so hard, and they have won many races, including Alabama State Championships and National Championships.

They are BFF's and have a wonderful relationship.  We are so blessed that our children are loving and respectful to us and all the people that they meet.  (Both of them would hate that of all the pictures, I chose to use this one.)

My "little boy", and his daddy.  It seems like yesterday that I was in the hospital, checking his tiny fingers and toes.  DH didn't see him until he was 6 months  old because he was in the Army and in Viet Nam when he was born.  My Daddy called him his fishing partner and Mom showed him how to cook and be "self-sufficient ", so his future wife wouldn't have to wait on him hand and foot.

He's the father of 6 children, 3 grandchildren, (with another one on the way), and has taught them respect and love for others.  His greatest heartache was the death of his 13 year old daughter when she was killed in a car accident, but his faith in God has helped him through it, (although we don't always understand God's reasoning) and he says one of these days he knows he will see her again and understand.

As a Mama, I could write a book, I'm so very, very  proud of this young man and love him dearly.  So I'll close and save something for another day.

Hope y'all have a blessed evening, and thanks for stopping by........

Another year passes..........

This year has been so busy; family, friends and health issues.

My creative GD learned to make pot holders, she enjoys crafts and sewing.

Itty is always looking for his "mom".  The puppies won't allow him into their domain and if  I'm in their  room he climbs up on the edge of the door, hanging there until I return to the other room so he can follow me... sometimes he acts more like a dog instead of a cat.

I went to some estate sales and found new treasures --  lol,  -  new treasures that I really didn't need.
The potato chips and can were  made by Anheuser Busch ...
My children will gladly tell you that I don't need any more dust collectors.  I jokingly tell them that they will have an inheritance, they just have to sell it a piece at a time on eBay !

This post was started a few days ago, there is a lot more to talk about but for now, this will be the end.

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment.
Hoping  everyone has a blessed evening.....

Grass, grass and wonderful grass...

While reading some blogs, my DSIL, Keith, started cutting the grass in our yards. We've had enough rain, that the grass has begun to grow, or at least turn green and not brown..

The cloud of dust around him still shows we could use more rain but we're all grateful for what we did receive. The fields around our house are still very dry and if the farmers aren't using water irrigation, the crops won't make this year.

We're going tomorrow for more peaches and tomatoes. I'm going to try canning the first batch of tomato sauce, attempting to use my friends recipe.

Keith doesn't know I took this picture and he'll be so surprised when my daughter reads this blog to him.!!! haha YAYA, Keith.....

Silly Saturday

Silly Saturday----a little late

I just had to share this photo of my 59th birthday. My children thought this was sooooo funny when they brought the cake in from the kitchen, I should have guessed something when they brought in the fire extinguisher !!! My DD has had a lot of fun with my birthday ever seen the 40th. The other pics are more family and I promised not to show them, (I'll have to figure out how to blur the babies faces), my favorite pic is the two of the grandchildren with me, one on my lap and the other right beside me...what would I ever do without my children and grandchildren, they truly are my blessings of life.

Graditudes:

1. My family, and extended family.

2. My God, pastor and church family.

3. We are blessed and thankful that my family has warm houses during these cold days.
