This has been a quiet, lazy day. I've been reading blogs for most of the day, had typed one, and it disappeared somewhere in blogger land.
The missions and youth of our church will be having a yard sale next Saturday, so I spent last week gathering household items. I was mistaken, and thought the sale was yesterday but thankfully it is next week. There are several totes and boxes I want to sort through. So far, in the fellowship hall, I have filled a table and a half !!!
My son, daughter-in-law, and grandchild were here for Christmas. This picture is of him and his immediate family, including our first great grandchild. Miss J is in the previous post -- she certainly has grown. Time passes so quickly.
The rain has begun, thank goodness. God's rain is better for the flowers and tomatoes plants.
We haven't had rain for some time, so the farmers have been irrigating their crops.
Hope you all have a wonderful week, may God bless you.

I will begin this blog by thanking you for opening it and spending time with me. Brenda at Cozy Little House has inspired me to begin again.
We became great-grandparents, a darling little girl, who is now 2 years old.

After spending our time, sweat and money; we moved into the "front" house and have enjoyed the
extra living space.
Hope all of you have a blessed evening. Thanks for joining me.

Trying something new.......
WARNING -- this is a long post..
I've been playing around with something new -- PicMonkey -- it's free and easy to change pictures. Brenda at Cozy Little House had the website on her blog, so I thgought I'd try it...
Puba likes the above picture because his "lil pup" is sitting on his shoulder. But it isn't a flattering picture of him. oh well, he said take the picture, and put it on my blog so everyone could see his baby.....
The second picture was taken at our granddaughters birthday gathering. It's a much better picture of him but, of course, I'm not fond of mine...I always thought I'd grow old gracefully - well, maybe the graceful part is on the inside !!
Three of my granddaughters -- the birthday girl, Miss K & Bug...
They love to act silly -- it always makes the evening interesting..
This has been the first post since we lost our Grandpa Sparky, some of the days are very diificult for us, and other days we can rationalize with ourselves because we know he's in Jesus's house, waiting for the rest of us..
He always enjoyed the family gatherings and especially loved Miss K and Bug...he was a sucker for anything they wanted to do. The evenings are the hardest for Mom, they had so many things in common and laughed a lot and she really misses that. She won't come live with us at this time -- "maybe in a couple of years".
Once again, thanks for reading my blog -- I enjoy my blogger friends..

My Dad
I thought I was ready to post again but maybe not ----- Our Grandpa Sparky, my dad, passed away Oct 26th. (I type this through tear filled eyes) We celebrated his 93rd birthday Sept 19th, he got sick the first week in Oct, was in ICU and rehab and ICU again. Dr. S pulled him through the first time in ICU, but gave him 2 units of blood to perk him up. The second time he got sick his body was too tired, the Congestive Heart & Kidney failure was too strong. Dr S couldn't get the water out of his body and he slipped peacefully away from us. We all know he's in heaven but miss him terribly. Mom is doing ok -- she's a strong woman, a survivor and has such a zest for life. He always said the prayers at family meals and on Thanksgiving she did that, -- she did a great job, thanking God for our Sparky.
A blogging friend said I'd know when I was ready to start writing again, and that it could be a healing place. She's right-- thanks for listening..

Making Cookies
"The cookies have to be rolled out to a certain thickness - almost so you can see through the dough" (and that's all the secret she told me).
Miss K is going to be the "Chef" of the family. She loves to cook (unlike me - one time she asked her dad why I just cooked "plain".-- I don't add lots of spices or "extras" like they do..) and enjoys setting a pretty table. She gets excited when she gets cooking presents.
Maybe when she grows up, she'll be my personal chef ........and bring me goodies to eat.....

Weekend News
There is a pecan grove near our house, and it looks like there will be a good crop this year. The limbs are so full they are almost on the ground. I'm surprised because we've had such little rain.
It a pretty sight to see the trees are full but it's also just as nice to imagine sitting under the trees - cool in the 90 degree weather.
We had family yesterday, DH's parents. The new puppy on FIL's shoulder is the latest addition to our family -- like we actually needed another animal. She's a tea cup, smaller than the cat, and follows DH's every step.
That's what he wanted --- a shadow.....
Lil' Miss Sam is used to being the only one in grandpa's lap and was a little jealous........
I did get some sewing done today,, I'm trying to finish something so I can link up to Blackberry Creek's UFO's.
